The BMW C Evolution Electric Scooter

The BMW C Evolution electric scooter has been presented in final production guise at the Frankfurt Motor Show in Germany.

It can be considered as an electric alternative to the C 600 Sport and C 650 GT maxi scooters powered by a liquid-cooled permanent magnet synchronous motor which has a rated output of 15 HP (11 kW) and a peak output of 47 HP (35 kW) and 53 lb-ft (72 Nm). It will do 0-31 mph (0-50 km/h) in 2.7 seconds and 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 6.2 seconds before topping out at 75 mph (120 km/h).

Thanks to an 8 kWh air-cooled lithium-ion battery pack, the BMW C Evolution has a range of up to 62 miles (100 km) before running out of juice. Once this happens, the battery can be recharged in approximately four hours from a 220V domestic socket with a 12A charge current or in three hours with a 16A charge current.

The driver gets to choose from four ride modes (Road, Eco Pro, Sail, Dynamic) and benefits from a generous TFT color display providing all the relevant information. The C Evolution also boasts LED daytime running lights which will automatically dim to double as the sidelight. It comes with heated handlebar grips and Torque Control Assist (TCA) which will limit the motor's torque based on the rear wheel's slip.
